Position Summary – Special Education Social Studies Teacher (High School)

Under Georgia Connections Academy Teaching Jobs 2026, certified teachers will provide high-quality virtual instruction using the Pearson Online Classroom. Teachers work from their home office within Georgia and attend required in-person events at the Duluth, Georgia, office and other statewide locations.
This role includes synchronous and asynchronous instruction, student engagement, family communication, assessment administration, and collaboration with academic and support teams.
Teachers must be available for required in-person activities, including professional development, state testing, student engagement events, and graduation ceremonies. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Education

Certification/License
Applicants must hold a valid Georgia teaching certification in one of the following:
- History (6–12) & Special Education General Curriculum
OR - Special Education Cognitive Social Studies (6–12) & Special Education General Curriculum
A Georgia Clearance Certificate is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Additional Requirements
- Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace)
- Experience working with Title I schools preferred
- Willingness to travel across Georgia for testing and school events
- Ability to work occasional evening hours to support families
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle
